Binding Nineteenth-century French full goatskin[?] bound by Hippolyte Duru (1803-1884); gilt border made up by a dog tooth roll, triple fillet, decorative roll with tulips; armorial crest of Bibliothèque de Mello [i.e the library of Baron Achille Seilliere] in gilt on both boards; board edges gilt-tooled with a single fillet; turn-ins decorated in gilt with a dog tooth roll, fillet, decorative roll; five raised bands to spine; on the second compartment direct-lettered in gilt: Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea; all other compartments filled with a gilt fleuron and gilt dots; at the foot of the spine direct-lettered in gilt: 1531; all edges marbled under gilt; marbled end-papers; attached blue ribbon page marker.
